Medicaid School-Based Services
Children under the age of 21 who have special education and health care needs in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act are eligible to receive services. Pecos Valley REC offers physical, occupational, audiological, and speech therapies. Assistive services such as behavioral health, mental health, nursing, diagnostic, and transportation are available upon request. These services are available free of charge to students and parents of our member districts; however school districts may bill Medicaid for covered students, with parent approval.
Medicaid Coordination
PVREC works with member school districts to identify students who may qualify for services through the state of New Mexico’s Medicaid School-Based Service Program. We coordinate the paperwork and follow up with Medicaid, keeping data tracking documentation current.
Administrative Claiming Process
The Administrative Claiming Process uses Fairbanks, LLC to conduct random moment samplings in compliance with federal medicaid regulations. These samplings identify the time and funds spent on special education services each quarter. Fairbanks reports this information in compliance with the New Mexico School-Based Services.
